My first post and it's a cry for help...

I'm the proud owner of a green Bessa R2 which has given me a few years of joyous picture taking. When I feel brave enough (read: get the next batch of pictures in) I'll stick some in my user gallery (currently empty).

My Bessa has recently started peeling: all the black rubbery stuff is coming off! It starts blistering, then moves to an edge, and then comes loose. I tried to glue it, which didn't work. Double-sided sticky tape similarly has no effect. Any suggestions on how to reattach it more securely? Superglue seems not a good idea, somewhow. Also, the bits of rubber material all seem a bit too large everywhere, maybe a millimeter or so of overspill. Should I trim this, or since it used to fit, leave it? Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm also gathering up the courage to adjust the vertical rangefinder adjustment, it's starting to annoy me now.

Looking forward to taking part in the oft' lively discussions!

My R2 is black and I've had it for a over year. The paint is fine but the rubber covering on the back is coming off at the lower right corner when viewing the camera from the back. It looks indeed larger than the area it covers. I haven't tried any glue yet. Was considering Epoxy but I'm still looking for my kit.

A little devil inside me says it might just be a sign that it's time to pimp the darn thing with some fine leather... 😉
