I have one of these excellent lenses, and the proper lenscap with a female thread intended to screw onto a reversed hood, but I can't find the hood itself. 48mm hoods are easy to find. Ones with an internal male thread enabling it to be screwed on in the reversed position seem to be almost as scarce as honest politicians. Does anyone know where I can find one of these lens hoods at a price substantially lower than its weight in gold?

Well-known
85 hood
85 hood
The hood only screws onto the lens when being used , in reversed position it slips on and the cap screws onto the male threads .
The shade was shipped with the lens .
There is an earlier shade that slips on in use and reversed , the later shades clip on in use and reversed .
I have never seen a shade that screws on in the reversed position and could not find one listed in Roberts book .

My error. I have never seen an example of this particular shade, and made an incorrect assumption. I am perfectly happy with one that slips on or clips on in the reversed position, as long as it does not flop around and scratch the lens.
