MacOSX 10.2.8. It kills *all* of them (including Netscape 7.2, Firefox 1.5 and Mozilla 1.8, and both the trunk builds of Mozilla and Firefox) when I click on certain topics. I find this very, very weird. People on Windows and Linux can't reproduce this bug, nor can anyone on a version of MacOSX greater than mine. Is anyone on 10.2.x that can test this for me?

I'm using Opera right now. It scares me. :p

I've been using Firefox 1.5 since it came out on Windoze and FreeBSD. No problems here, so it confirms what you've said about not replicating the bug.

I have noticed that RFF is the only site where I cannot use the Windoze keyboard combination ALT-<number> to get special characters; attempting to do that takes you to other pages.

I was trying to figure out if it was maybe something in someone's sig that was doing it, but I can't find it. The offending threads are mainly here and here. I was using the newest release of both, but when I saw the problem I downloaded the nightly builds to see if it was just a fluke...it wasn't. So now I'm trying to find possible causes.

I get Firefox 1.5 to hang here on a regular basis after it's been open >1 hour. I just have to shut down the browser and restart. My gut feeling on how it happens is that there is a memory leak somewhere in the shared code.

Mac OS X 10.4.4

When using Mozilla at work and Firefox at home this site displays fine. However, turning on Webwasher totally destroys this site, even though it (Webwasher) works fine on some other web boards.

If anyone here has 10.2.8 or if you know anyone with 10.2.8 that can check those threads in 1.5 and see if they crash the browser, I'd be much obliged. If I can get this bug figured out I can submit it and get it resolved.

Did you check that the versions you are trying to use support 10.2.8. The builds might require features of a newer OS.
I'm still being a dinosaur and using 9.2.2.

Have you tried clearing out the profile and doing a fresh install? Hasn't happened to me here on this site, specifically, but others, yes, due to some ads on the site (flash or javascript or something). The problem was resolved after uninstall, clean out profile and all plugins, then reinstall. Make sure to save your bookmarks.
