Hey guys and girls,
Since there a few of us here in Germany, how about having an RFF get-together? Josee and I would like to meet other RFF members, do a little shooting, some beer drinking, etc.
We could meet here in Cologne, in Berlin, Munich, anywhere you find interesting and/or convenient... Personally, we are willing and able to travel, and are available pretty much every weekend until the end of March. The only date that is taken is Feb 18, when I'll be at the RFF meet in Antwerp.
Throw out your ideas for where and when is best for you, and we'll get organised.
Cheers,
BJ
P.S. We're going to be in Frankfurt a.M. tomorrow (Jan 21st). If you're there, text me and we can meet for some handkäse mit musik! You can get my number from my website (see signature below).

No ... not Handkäse mit musik! The farting noises will be louder than your shutter and you wont get any useable candids for the contest!
Are you german or canadian? Where do you live in Cologne?

BJ,
In principle I'd keep this as a good idea, if I only knew how many of us are based in Germany and where in the country ? No clue, it's time now to come outta the closet , you lurkers !!
After UK founded it's own club here I also thought about including Switzerland and Austria for a German speaking chapter, it would be nice to have a specified interchange of informations, events, contests, flea markets, expositions, and so on.
How many members do we have in this area , I know five only, please raise your hands folks !?

I can do that: Josee and I are living in Cologne, Germany for January through April (or thereabouts). I'm working for Matrikon Germany, a branch office of the company with which I spent the last six years in Edmonton. We have a little apartment, and life is good!back alley said:maybe a short update here for those of us too lazy to visit your forum often.
Fear not: after the Frankfurter Schlactplatte, I was much too full for any handkase (but I somehow ended up with a bit of musik anyways!Kevin said:No ... not Handkäse mit musik! The farting noises will be louder than your shutter and you wont get any useable candids for the contest!

I'm Canadian, just visiting Germany for a little while. In Cologne, I live just outside of the ring, near Friesenplatz. It's a very good location, and conveniently placed: I'm only a 60-second walk from work.
Anyways, I know there are a few other members out there: they showed their faces in this other thread. Come on boys and girls, doesn't anyone want to play?

I would be interested too, but at the moment I'm so tied up that I can't make any travel plans for the next 3-4 month's. However, if there would be a meeting in Munich on a weekend I sure would be interested.

Currently it seems that I will have a free weekend at 10th/11th of February. I am located in the south west near Basel and can reach Cologne in about 4 hours by train. Other choices would be Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Wiesbaden or Stuttgart... every city I can reach with the ICE/IC in about 4 hours or less

Thanks, fine, but there ARE more !? Well, the conclusion must be there is no special interest in this idea and if so it's o.k. too for me.

I am here too. About an hour from Hamburg. Living and working in Lüneburg, a 1000 year old city with medieaval architecture. I'd be interested to meet up for a beer and "shots". If you are thinking of visiting the north, let me know. I dont know when i would have time though. Most likely one of the sundays.
we seem to be pretty spread out though, Munich, Basel, Köln, Hamburg.

I'm not in Germany, but in Zurich, Switzerland. Would be willing to travel to a meet in Southern Germany, but not too far.

... As long as football doen't become an issue ... I know nothing about the game, apart from the fact that Oliver Kahn, a Bayern Mucih defender, got offered the part of a Trogladite and simple refused .... (in film that is)

There has been one member close to me in Karlsruhe, with an Italian name i don't remember, seems he has left this nice and peaceful community ........ ;-)
There are two swiss members who have missed the thread it seems and so did the guys from Austria. Seems we are all living in the extreme north or south of the country, excepted BJ in Köln. More in the south do.
It's a pity , at the time I can't plan anything lasting longer then a day, so Basel would work, Cologne too, Frankfurt would be comfortable, Karlsruhe is 40 minutes by car.
For the Fischköpp it's quite a hassle tho, Franfurt for them would mean 4 hours to go by ICE ?
Regards,
Bertram

Alright, it seems like we're really split north/south here, so I don't think we'll be all getting together any time soon... I'd be glad to have separate meetings, which may encourage any Swiss and/or Austrians to join in the south, and I dunno, some Danes in the north? (Do we have any Danish members?)
I'll have to check my schedule, to see what's going to work well, but tentatively, Feb 11 in Munich would work for us. Looking north, we'd be looking March 4 or 11 at the earliest for the north, probably somewhere near Hamburg?
Any comments/suggestions? And, I'd appreciate if someone will volunteer to play host in the chosen cities, so we know where to shoot, eat, and drink.
Cheers,
BJ

I could certainly play a host in Lüneburg, but I doubt anyone wants to come here. I dont know Hamburg well enough to do the same.
