As I was suffering my most recent GAS attack I thought I felt a demonic presense breathing on my neck. Was it RFistopheles, patron demon of RF Forum? Cleverly reasoned justifications inserted themselves in my porous thoughts. Yes, I NEEDed this, despite all the other gear in the closet; it is significantly different and useful, yesssss, just log on now and hit the BUY button!

I succumbed to temptation; remorse has not yet hit. I'll get a followup email from KEH during business hours on Monday, so it's still possible the items I ordered were already sold. I have noticed things appearing and disappearing from the list of Contax G gear over the past couple of days' drooling time.

But hopefully, with RFistopheles' help, a Contax G1 body ("Excellent"), and 21mm f/2.8 Biogon ("Bargain") will duly appear on the BBT (Big Brown Truck).

This combination strikes me as uniquely allowing the user to keep his eye on the external viewfinder for framing whilst the camera handles the metering and focusing automatically. Still no parallax correction, but otherwise this seems to eliminate most of the usual inconvenience of external viewfinder use. Is this realistic or naïve?

That demon kept whispering in my ear that the discontinued Contax G system now offers incredible value for a titanium body with Carl Zeiss lenses... I'll probably have to look at getting a 28mm and maybe the 45 once the credit card recovers a bit. What am I in for?
