I was lucky enough to see this show today amidst the joys of kid wrangling on a family holiday. I don't feel in a position to critique it, other than to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a variety of work including some of his early street photography, and some moving portraits from an insane asylum. The majority of the show was of famous figures shot against a white background, including some very large prints that had a big impact (large format?). What struck me was that while most of the images showed excellent technique and managed to capture that intangible something that makes a portrait great, there were some equally (albeit few) imperfect images that had just as much impact. For the Australians here, it's worth seeing if you can, and I think it's running until November some time.
