My friend is looking for a Ricoh 500GX to replace his old one (sentimental reasons). He find a cool black ones that he wants. But after close inspection on the pictures that the seller give it is clear that the lens and the viewfinder need cleaning.
My question is can the viewfinder on a 500GX be cleaned? I know that the lens can be cleaned but I don't have any experience in cleaning a viewfinder before.
Thanks before,
Adit

Fogged viewfinders in vintage cameras are as common as little hair with age. Trick is opening 500GX - looks that it opens like 500G - front panel has to be removed instead of top cover.
I can't find at the moment link on "how-to", just remember that screws under leatherette have to be loosened, and to take it over lens ears from aperture ring have to be removed - two screws.
It takes some time to clean VF though effect is clearly visible, in most cases.
