I just saw this interesting post on another forum which talked about using the Ricoh gw-3 on the sigma dp1m. So I did a google search and found a hit in dp review which had a discussion and sample from a rx1.

Just tried my GW-2 on a 43mm filter sized lens adapted to NEX. Extremely soft with crazy aberration.
That said, it looks like the GW-3 had made significant improvements in its optics to cover the larger image circle. Might worth a try.

Wasn't the gw2 designed for a small sensor camera ? Anyway the dpreview images look pretty decent..

I checked amazon, b&h, adorama, and pop flash. None have in stock. Amazon has third party seller though.. Wants more then msrp if I remember correctly.

I have three cameras such an adapter could be used with..
- x100 --> 35 becomes 26
- dp2m --> 45 becomes 34
- dp1m --> 28 becomes 21

Anthony at pop flash informed me that it has not been released to any US dealers yet.. I am now on a notification list.
Anyway still tempted by the Ricoh gr anyway.. Having a .75 adapter that an work on multiple cameras would really be nice.. The 21 samples I ave seen on the web look pretty good as I remember.

While I was doing some drawer cleanup today, I discovered a Sony 0.7 lens adapter which was originally for a Sony Hi8 movie camera I had ages ago. So just for grins today, I decided to have a try at using them on my fixed lens cameras. The thread diameter is 46mm. I did not have a step down 49-46 adapter, so these were just hand held against the existing filter on the camera. So some of the distortion in the picture could be due to this... But as I said this was for grins...
All shots of the boring backyard wall that I always use.. Second shot from each camera is the one with the adapter in place.
First off the Fuji X100
The DP1M - Talk about vignetting.. I don't believe the old Hi8 movie cameras were using anything bigger than a p&s size sensor, so I am actually surprised the vignetting was not seen sooner due to the image circle requirements differences.
The distortion does not look as bad. It looks like I could take a pano cut pretty easy from this shot though.

Overall, if u discount the distortion and like at it from the other aspects of the picture quality, it does not look too bad. The distortion for some reason is not as bad on the 28 as the 35 or 45 fov lenses. I can't remember what the original zoom lens range was for the old Sony since I sent it to Goodwill ages ago. But I cannot believe it went much higher then 28mm on that zoom, which could account for less distortion..
So I have got a gr on the way now.. Hurry up Ricoh releaee that adapter here in the US.
