Hi all,

I've seen reference to this in only a few places and the only images shared (that are still visible online) show the combination held together by hand so hardly good for telling if this actually works.

Specifically, I'm talking about mounting the old Gt-1 teleconverter (originally for GRi and GRii I believe) on to a current GR (GRV) via a 49-37 step down ring attached to the threads on the Gt-3 adapter. Well that's a mouth full but you get the point.

I've seen two accounts of of this, one saying there is corner softness (not particularly surprising) and one saying that it's sharp all the way across the frame. Has anyone here actually done this who can speak to the result and post some current images showing the quality (or lack thereof)? Thanks!

From what I have heard it is very susceptible to flare. I never got one so no first hand knowledge.

My check the Ricohforum for old posts. I'm sure some folks here had/have one. The GR series has a small but strong following around these parts. Or at least there was a few years back (I've been away for a bit).

Good luck and please share your results.

I ended up just finding that for my purposes one of the older GXR cameras with A16 module will do. I've posted a Wanted ad in the Classifieds section if anyone who seems this has a GXR and A16 they'd like to sell.

I may still experiment with my original question and if I do I'll be happy to report back here on the results.
