I missed using the Rigid Summicron 50/2 with the M9 as I got used to using a 35mm on the M9 and a 50mm on the M8, but I wanted to again use one of my best liked 50mm lenses with a full frame camera. Yesterday, I set the M9 to ISO 160 and I took some photos of my wife outside our home. Even with the COVID-19 around us, we still can take such photos safely.

I don't want a super sharp lens for such photos.

There was not much light then, and using ISO 160 led to a large aperture. The colors were also affected by the shade.

Most likely this lens needs some cleaning. I will inspect it next.

checking was done:
1. it was my back-up Rigid Summicron (without a filter) and not the one that I usually use (with a filter).
2. it had some dust on it from sitting in a closet for many months, which was easily removed.
3. I replaced it with the other Rigid Summicron, and I took two quick shots. The images are very clear.
4. I then tried out the back-up Summicron, and it did well.

When you have "too many" lenses, this can happen.
My wife likes her photos with the "soft-focus" effect.
