Robert Frank's Elevator Girl Sees Herself Years Later

Thanks, that was very interesting. I saw 'The Americans' at the SFMOMA a couple of months ago. The contact sheets were really interesting. Lots of bad exposures and composition, but the good ones were really good. As I recall he was using TRIX and PLUSX.
 
Even though she's still a beatiful woman I'd rather have no answer to the Jack Kerouack's question about the little girl...

Yeah, there were plenty of grab shots with odd composition, etc. But I have to say that overall I was impressed by how few shots Robert Frank actually took of a given scene/situation. In most cases it was only a few shots from which he pulled a given one seen in The Americans. One case that I recall because I was so impressed is the shot of a white infant being held in the arms of a black woman. That was the only shot Frank took of that scene and in my view he absolutely nailed it.
