I recently picked up a Rollei 35 with a 40mm f/3.5 Tessar lens. The camera is in working condition but the shutter sticks at shutter speeds under 1/30th and 1 of the 2 rolls I shot had terrible light leaks.

Any idea where I can get it CLA'd and is it worth it? The camera works but is definitely a user. Realistically I'm not sure how much I'd use it, what would I ask for it for parts?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm in Sault Ste Marie, 9 hours NW of you. I was just in Toronto for a few days this last week.

It's made in Singapore so would that be better sold off for parts on eBay? I paid almost nothing for it so it's not like I'm taking a loss.

Sorry, I deleted my post-- wanted to post a pic--it's well-worn as you can see.

If it's made in Germany, it is likely worth fixing. The shutter is simple enough that any qualified repairman can do it. The light leaks are probably due to worn linings.

I have one. bought in 1969 in Germany and used it extensively. It does have a small light leak if exposed to the sun. I don't use it much any more.

Collectors like the German ones. Check prices on e-Bay.

BTW: What is your location?

If you don't plan to use it, sell it for parts on e-Bay or Craigslist. You won't get much though.

Lots of places in Toronto can probably fix it. But labour is expensive.
