I recently picked up a 35 SE and it's quickly become my favourite camera. I was surprised at how easy it is to focus reliably and how ergonomic it can be considering how frequently the controls are brought up online as a negative. The only downside that I've found is that the covering on the camera is pretty unpleasant on my copy; it feels like vaguely sticky, slightly oily, oxidised gumboot rubber, plus it's peeling a bit. It may be that it's supposed to feel this way (for all its faults it's quite grippy) but what ever the case may be I'd prefer something else. I've noticed Aki Asahi sells leather for the Rollei 35/t/e but not the se/te. I was wondering if someone here might be able to tell me if they're actually any different aside from the relocation of the lens lock button, since if that's the case then I will buy the original 35 kit and modify it.
