I have a very nice Rollei 35 with a Tessar Xenar copy lens. However, I have a problem with the lens coming just short of infinity.
When I extend the lens out and lock it into place it sometimes comes up short on infinity. It lock firmly into place. Extending and retracting is smooth. The lens barrel does wobble a bit when extending and retracting, but it firmly in place when locked.
Today, has been frustrating because I have not been able to get the lens to infinity at all. It comes up just short. Once in a while the lens will only go to 6m.
Does anyone have an suggestions as to why this is happening? And does anyone have any solutions?
I like the camera a lot. If need be I will hold it until I can afford a CLA.

The front element retaining ring screws (under the glued Xenar namering) have come loose.

Thanks. Now, how to properly remove the Xenar name ring without damaging the name ring.
Thanks again for the information.

If it's like on the Tessar there is a dark grey plastic serrated disk around the Xenar namering. Unglue that disk by lifting it with some toothpicks. The screws are underneath.
But you may have to recollimate the lens on inf. between tightening the screws.
Written from memory ! I may be a bit wrong but you'll get it.
