I purchased the pistol grip a while ago for the 2.8D but I have not used it yet. when fitted to the base of the camera it has a distinct kink off to one side.

I would be grateful of anyone with some experience could tell me just how it is best handled?

I had imagined that it might make for much quicker handling, but maybe not.

Is there a site with pics of how it is used?

many thanks

One tip I've read here on RFF: when using the pistol grip on the Rolleiflex, instead of winding the film with your right hand, just rotate the camera and grip counter-clockwise so that you can use your left hand to wind the film. Then, rotate it back up, and your left hand is at the focus knob again.

Personally, with TLRs, I find the pistol grips useful with a prism or the sportsfinder, but not with the waist-level finder.

For the less affluent... the pistol grip works very well
with the original, distortion-free, eye-level finder.
That kink in the handle is so your wrist won't dislocate
as you bring your Rollei to eyebrow height.

Thanks Rick, Dave and AgentX

I had acquired the thing hoping that it would make street type shooting easier, but then I never got around to trying it out.

Maybe this weekend ... ?

Are there photos anywhere showing it in use?
