I just bought my first Rolleiflex, a 2.8C Xenotar. I am delighted with the camera, but I have a problem:I can not put the lens hood (not An original rollei, is a new one for Rolleiflex) with the rolleinar 1 bay III.
I have read in other threads here, that it can be done in the correct order (first the rolleinar on the taking lens, second, the hooh, and the rolleinar on the viewing lens at last). But I can not put the rolleinar of the viewing lens. Do You think that the problem is the non original lens hood? I bought mine in ebay to fotodiox_gear, and it works very well without the rolleinar, and looks similar to the original to me.

I will apreciate any help

I have been comparing my hood from fotodiox with photos of an original rollei hood, and I think I have found the problem. I will have to cut a part of the fotodiox hood mount, wich is too big

Hello Dan, Thank you for the confirmation. Im not very good with a dremel, but will try it.
Fotodiox should warn in their ads that the hood does not work with the rolleinar (or make a better hood). I should have bought the original hood :bang:

Yeah, they should. I have the same hood and the same camera: be careful when you mount it, the hood's bayonet mount is sharp-ish metal and could scratch the chrome if you do it too fast or wiggle trying to find the correct rotation.

Thank you Novembersierra, I will take care.
I've already filed the hood with a metal file. It was easy and I did it in 5 minutes. Now I can put the rolleinar next to the hood.
They should fix that little detail at the factory. Now it works fine, but has a somewhat sloppy appearance. Its a shame, since the hood is very well done, all metal, and fits very well in the Rolleiflex.
