I need a rubber eyecup for my older Hasselblad HC1 90 degree prism. Haven't had much success googling it. The one for the PM90 looks like it MIGHT fit, but have no idea whether it actually will. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
Not a clue about the HC1, but all of my earlier blad prisms (NC2, Early Meter Prism, HC3/70, HC4 etc) all take the rubber eyecup from the nonmetered Kiev 88 Prism. Actually much nicer and better than the original blad eyecups. Fit without monkeying, and a great improvement. I have about ten of them around, Thanks to Midwest Photo Exchange.
Thanks Nokton48. That makes sense, as the Kiev 88 is a sort of Hassy clone. I happen to have a Kiev TTL/Spot prism here and the eyecup is far too big. My HC1 prism goes to the older 500C cameras.
I got lucky since I posted this question and found a black rubber O ring that slipped onto the prism w/ a little persuasion. It protrudes just enough to keep my eyeglasses from the metal. That's how I am, spend $500 on a camera and balk at spending $15 for an accessory. Still, it makes my day when I can make something work for free. That $15 is nearly 3 double combos at the local Chinese take out place.
I'd better not think about how many dinners we could have eaten if I hadn't bought the Hassy.
