Hello!

Following to this thread : http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=233654#post233654 I had the idea of creating a database that would help us in gathering our knowledge of russian lenses and assist in crossing data from production time, places, and such.

Like stated in the aforementioned thread, it would be great if we can make an accurate database by crossing all the informations with the various soviet lenses in kiev and ltm mount. I'm open into working on this project. Feel free to "feed" me with such informations. I can be contacted at "max" "@" "kamshin" "." "com"

I suggest the following info to be sent :

- rff username
- lens model
- focal length
- f/ stop value
- lens mount
- serial number (you can hide the last 2 numbers if you want)
- symbol on the lens
- coating color
- lens color (chrome or black)

additionally, this data could be also sent:

- number of blades
- any comment you find useful to add

regards and thank you for the cooperation 😀

Hey Max,

The best way would be to set up a site where people could register and submit their lenses by themselves.

I've got some links with downloads on a few lenses. I'll bookmark this thread and send the stuff directly to your email above when I get a chance.

Max, at the beginning I'd keep this at RFF for no other reason than it will let you get a build up of data before making a decision to put this onto a separate website, with all the attendant costs and time management as well as other web related costs and issues.

*bump* we have 37 russian lenses recorded so far... I can't believe that's all we have on RFF! 😉
Hamster: once we have recorded most of the raw data, I'll be probably contacting this person, and preparing a nice way to visualize things (with filters and all) 😉

Max,
I will send you some the info on my little colletion of lenses this coming Sunday. I won't really have time 'til then. You want info about only 35mm format lenses? Or Any FSU lenses we all have?
Rob

Thanks to all! I'm busy in my office right now, so all will be updated at home tonight 🙂

rbiemer: for now i'm compiling only 35mm lenses for rangefinders... but we can extend this some day 🙂

OK, 35mm RF lenses only. And the errand I thought I needed to run today before work has been handled so I have some time. Email follows shortly, Max!

I just mailed you my list: 25 lenses (including 3 in Pentacon Six mount, I don't know if you also collect that info). I'm sure I have a silver Jupiter 12 LTM somewhere, but I can't locate it right now.
