Greetings from the Philipppines!
I would just like to ask if anyone knows of a certified repair shop for Leicas in San Francisco area. I know Hong Kong is nearer for me but a friend of mine will be visiting the U.S. soon so I'll just have my M3 brought there instead...that is, if there are shops available.
Thanks for your time.

That's really me
There's three places that come to mind with camera repair, though only one of the places I know for sure will do repair work on Leica's.
1.
International Camera Techs
http://www.ictcamera.com/
Located in Mountain View, about 40 minutes drive south of San Francisco.
Fred will work on Leica's. Very knowledgeable and friendly too.
The other two do camera repairs, not sure about Leica's. They might send it out.
2.
Adolph Gassers
Located in San Francisco
3.
Keeble & Shuchat
Located in Palo Alto. Similar transit times with Mountain View.

Not exactly centrally-located, and I don't know if they are "certified" for Leica repairs. But they have a semi-retired technician, Willi Maier, who is said to be quite experienced with Leica and Rollei, etc . . . I recently brought in my M3 to him for CLA, and his fees seem reasonable.
