San Francisco RF Shoot-Out

I've noticed quite a few San Francisco/Bay Area photographers joining us lately and would like to see if there's any interest in a RF gathering [gasp] in person in San Francisco this year.

Personally I'm swamped right now (it's 11:30am on a Sunday and I'm working...) but maybe in - say - November when it's still great weather here :D

The get together would have four sections to it:

1) Breakfast meeting and introductions.
Very informal, just hanging out, having some COFFEE and a bagel, etc and get to know eachother a bit.

2) Shooting-trip
Using your rangefinder camera(s) we go to three-four areas of the city (ex: Chinatown, The mission, Downtown, etc) and take photos. We could even make it a point-shoot (meaning pre-defined rules for "2 points for a baby in a stroller, 5 points for couple kissing", etc) :)

3) Early Dinner
Grab something to eat, discuss and show off cameras, etc.

4) Post-meeting photos
Easy to post to site to share photos, stories, etc of the get together after we've gotten our films back - and scanned them :)
(and if a point-shoot crown the 'winner') :)



Note: If you're not living in the San Francisco bay area but would happen to find your way here at the time of the meeting then that would ofcourse be great fun!

Aaaah, dang! It's in SF! Can someone spot my a dime? About 10,000 of them? :)

May I send myself to your gmail account Rich, I'm sorta big, but then 1 Gb is plenty of space... :D

Seriously, that could be great ! An advice though, go to some cafe with BIG tables, once you all start taking Likas out of your pockets you may find the table a bit crowded ;)

Well...if we have a SERIOUS international interest...then maybe we should plan for something next year to give people time to plan :)

Maybe the first 'Beyond the Forum' international get togethers? ;)

Great city, mainly if you don't have to work/study there but great anyway :D

Btw, just today the Barcelona Culture forum closes its gates, so it's the last time this performance will take place...

Next one, Monterey, Mexico, 2007 :eek:
