Hi everyone, I wrote to Stephen Gandy asking for information to help decide between the SC and MC Nokton 40/1.4, and he tipped me off to an article in the March/April 2006 issue of Photo Techniques that compares the two different versions of the lens. I went to Photo Techniques' website hoping they had scanned copies of back issues available for purchase and viewing online, but they only sell print copies. Unfortunately, as an American living in Seoul, my only way to avoid paying a couple hundred dollars' customs duty on a body+lens combo is to have it shipped to my family in the U.S. and pick it up when I'm there visiting next week. This leaves me too little time to wait for Photo Techniques to ship a back issue internationally.
I'm certainly not asking for anyone to break copyright or post the entire article. I also already know that there is a clear difference in how the two coatings control flare. However, if anyone has the issue and could report on whether their testing found much difference in contrast, or in the saturation of color images, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been scouring the web for a week now and have found next to nothing in the way of direct comparison of the MC and SC versions. :bang: I almost want to take Mr. Gandy up on his suggestion to simply order them both.
