My friend asked me one thing about this lens.for what format is this schender normal lens.(i mean 50mm lens is normal for 35mm film , 80mm lens is normal for 6x6 film) so what format of film is for this lens.
also i read this on some site "Most low-price 210mm's are "normal" for 5x7", and so will give ample coverage on 4x5" what is ample coverage?
thanks a lot in advance

A 210 mm is considered a slightly long "normal" lens for a 4x5 and a normal for 5x7. Normal for 4x5 is considered to be a 130 to 150 mm lens. 90 mm is a wide angle and 75mm is an extreme wide angle for 4x5.
Ample coverage is when the circle of image at the film plane is greater than the film area to the degree that there is no fall off of focus or vignetting at the corners or extreme edges.
210mm is the focal length of the lens. Or 8.2677 inches. For view camera use they come with both aperture and shutter in most cases although they can be had "in barrel" or without shutter for use with either a camera with a built in leaf shutter or some of the view/press cameras with spring driven focal planes shutters built in to the camera frame.
Most view camera lenses in 210 mm length will cover 5x7 but not all. The name brands Schneider,Nikor, Fugi, are top end and some of the older Kodak and Graflex/Wallensaks are pretty good. There are some Daggors floating around that are supposed to be excellent portrait lenses but they are pricey. Cambo/Calumet has a brand but I don't recall it at the moment.
I have a Schneider Zenar 210 mm and am very happy with it.
