I finished a Schneider Xenar with Leica M39 mount, rangfinder camed.
The original lens mount were for the AKA cameras, Akarette, Akarelle and Arette BW.
It is a very high quality lens, barrel made of solid brass, hard chromium plated.
Made in the early 1950th

I made a socket adapter for the female M36x1 mount of the AKA and the Leica M39 mount.
After this I have to adjust the infinity position and the 3m close focus point.
Next step is to turn the cam tube and to bring it to the correct length.

It need a few hours but a lens like this s it worth. It is in the league of the Elmar 2.8/50mm or other Tessar type lenses made in this years.
Ok, the best one were the Voigtlander Color Skopar 2.8/50mm but the Xenar is very close to it.

Excellent work. Brian did a similar conversion of a Schneider 50/2.8 to M. Right?

The Schneider 50/2.8 is an excellent lens.

I have the SK Xenar in 35mm f=3.5 in Leica screw 39mm mount and had the 50 mm version made for the rare Snyder 35 made by Nicca for the Australian market.
They are cammed and work well on the Snyder and on Leica Barnacks

Cool, with a small akarette/akarelle collection, I’ve always wanted to do something like this. And most of the akarette xenar unit focus lenses were 45mm 2.8, the 50mm 2.8 must be quite rare.
