The shutter in my Seagull 203 Chinese folder is inoperative. Is this worth repairing? I'm going to have a Blacksburg, VA camera store owner check it out Wed. but I thought I'd ask. I like the choice of 4.5X6 and 6X6 formats with this camera and would like to get it back in action.

I've owned 3 Seagull TLRs. One the shutter just stopped working one day, the other the shutter literally fell apart in my hands when I clicked the shutter. The other was good but I sold it and got an ugly but perfectly working Rolleicord for $50 off eBay. What a difference---build-quality-wise and lens-wise! I do not think it's worth repairing.

What is wrong with your 203?

I can't put the lever in the shutter-cocked position. It seems to be missing a spring (broken) etc. Dave Kinchen

No tension--I picked up a brand new one the other day, in a trade. Even has the instruction leaflet. Still, it would be nice to have the camera working

Thanks! I'll try it. I like the dual format feature of these folders.
