Sean has his review up: The M8 is as good as expected, Noise about the same as Nikon, but very film-like.

i'm happy it's here.

but i will be more happy and am more interested in parts 6, 7 and 8, especially part 8...the lens tests on film.

"But one can also make it draw like a tri-x"
How come there is no picture on that review that looks even close to tri-x? to me it looks like very very clean and high resolution mobile camera...

Point is, this forum is for the free exchange of ideas, advice and experience, as Ascender, whoever he is, was doing. Why deride him for doing so, and question his integrity, then charge for your own information?

I think Bob Krist said it well, on the ProPhoto / Rob Galbraith forum re a discussion on the Ricoh GRD:

Hi Sean: I'm sure your review is excellent but isn't this forum for the "free" exchange of ideas and opinions? I'm not sure, but a more appropriate place to plug a pay-per-view website might be in the Trading Post area. There's a lot of folks sharing their experience and expertise on these boards gratis.

As a columnist for Outdoor Photographer, and before that, Popular Photography, I understand only too well the way you can get inundated with folks wanting free advice, and I don't blame you for charging for it. In fact, I applaud you for not giving it away for free....just not on this forum. Everyone here bought their GRD (I just bought mine from the place that loaned you yours) and is sharing their thoughts and experiences freely.

If you'd like to hear more of my opinion, just e-mail me a Visa or Mastercard number! :) If anyone else wants my opinion of this excellent little camera, it'll be on the house! Bob Krist

Whatever.

Welcome to capitalism guys! you think M8 costs that much? I doubt, its just because guys who build M8 have to be payed well, so they can pay to read reviews :D

I have been away for the last week with very limited access and it appears I have a lot to catch up with. In the meantime, I would like to suggest that we keep the conversation confined to the subject of RF photography rather than individuals. As far as I can see, Sean hasn't contributed to this thread yet. It was started by Jaap and so it can't really be called a case of self promotion. ;)

:D :D :D nice to have fun but fact is fact, M8 is like any other digital camera or digital camera in mobile phone and that is not good enough for me to even concider digital as a photographic medium yet :D
