It seems to me that SLR shooters are much more likely to own two or more of the same camera body than are RF shooters. My SLR kit has always included a pair of camera bodies. But, when I think about getting a second RF body, my inclination is to look for something that would complement but not duplicate what I already have. Am I right that this is a general trend amongst RF shooters? If so, why?

Edit: Sorry, I kind of messed up the available options (my first poll😕 ) Anyway, there is now an option available to those whose collection of RF bodies includes some duplicates.

I only have one m-42 mount slr, I had a MD-mount, and sold my maf-mount newish slr. I kind of upgraded, then sold my upgrades settling with the old one. I've never doubled up but the m-42 was meant to only be my backup 'in case'.

My rf collection is growing, but I dont really need 2 of any body. Maybe when a body breaks down I'll get another one of the same type.

I only have 1 RF body at this time. If it dies, then I'll get another. The same for my FT-bN & Speed Graphic. I've really needed to weed out what isn't getting used and that's slowly happening.

Now lenses are a different story... :bang: 😉

If you had the opportunity to marry a second person, would you choose someone exactly the same as your current spouse, or somebody different? I prefer the variety.

Contax III, M2, M3, M6, CL, IIIa, IIf, Minilux, Hexar AF,... no duplicates

I am not sure how to answer this. I have an M3 and M2. They look like non-identical twins.

They are same. But different.

They are complementary because they have different framelines.

Why no option for 'Complimentary and duplicate'? Yes, some of us are sick. I own duplicate M4-P's that compliment my M7 (fully manual to compliment electronic).

Based on the wording of the poll, my vote was for #1, Twin Canon VI-Ts.

In fact, I figure my twins are complimented by the recent addition of an M5.

I suppose "All of the Above" would be my real vote.

I have two M7s that are complementary, one 0.72 mag and one 0.85. If I had the money I'd get a duplicate 0.85 because I like that camera so much.

I´m currently using a ZI Contax II and an AZ Kiev 4.
Mounts are the same as well as VFs and limitations, lenses are commonly shared between them...
Are they twins... or just complementary bodies?

Shall I say something about wives?
