We have lots of tales here relating to the Jupiter lenses, but does anyone else prefer or just use regularly - the Industar 61LD?. Mine cost £8! and never fails to please!.......how about some pictures to redress the balance with those J8s and J3s?

I had one at one time that I had mounted into a Kiev J-8 shell.
No complaints about its quality..

Yes. Also the Industar 26m 5cm is crackerjack.

today I was shooting in strong, low early sunlight, and thought it would upset this lens, but it handles it well!

I had a Collapsible Industar 61L/D for my Contax. A happy RFF'r has it now.

I've had a few over the years. Like most lenses this old, some are ok and some are very good. My current one is almost, but not quite, as good as my Leica 50 2.0 collapsible Summicron. It's sharp, but can't resolve like the Leica. But then it only cost 30 bucks! Like all things Soviet, you generally have to buy several to get a really good one.

I like the images, but the build quality on the 4 or 5 I've had is so poor that I can't enjoy using them ... so I always reach for something else.

The best camera is one that still works!
Fed 2 with Industar 26 at maximum aperture! (BW400CN)

I have one on my Canon P, and I've been waiting for a Canon 50mm lens to test the P. Looking here, maybe I should load up the P and try out the lens.
Thanks for the excellent photo examples.

i had a fed-5 and then went to a canon L3 screwmount body, i used the lens because i had it, and honestly, i have been pretty blown away sometimes with it, its my only RF lens and i love it, my only reason for getting a different lens is to get something that is faster, F1.4 or so. but for now i am totally happy with it.

I use both the I-61 L/D and just love it. The I-26M is no slouch either.

Great. Now I have to go and dig around under the kitchen sink to find my copy. If I get eaten by spiders then I'm coming back to haunt you all.

i feel like the fed 5's that they're attached to are also underappriciated. i bought mine for the lens but it's been a fantastic user for me.
