Hi,
I recently bought a very nice Zorki 4k, working well except the self-timer. Is there any way to fix it without the risk of damaging the whole camera? It is possible to cock it, then it starts to run, but it stops after a few seconds ...
Thanks for your help! Eike

Probably needs a good clean. It's possible to remove the mechanism, it's held on by a couple of screws BUT you'll have to take the camera half to bits to get at it AND it's a pretty delicate and fiddly mechanism. Considering how rarely you're likely to use it, I'd think hard about the effort required to fix it and the real possibility of failing to do so. If the camera were in pieces anyway, I'd say it was worth a try. For what use the self-timer is I'd just learn to live without it.
