So I'm browsing around for a Canon Camera Holder V for my Canon P (maybe being wishful thinking maybe I could get one decently priced).

Well I came across this one on an ebay store, and I guess its being pitched as a nice collectible...

Now I understand the need to keep track of the product and so forth... but why the hell would you stick a sticker or other adhesive item right onto the leather case of said collectible item, would that not put some of the 'collectible value' down the crapper?

It's not the first time I seen a seller do something like that.

</pointless rant...>

Excellent! I have one just like it. Now I know how much to expect! (Not!)

Actually, mine still has an original price sticker on it - 2 pounds 10 shillings!

I'd like to get one mainly for holding, and to compliment the existing Canon Flash Gun V I got for it as well. I also got the Canon film cartridge in brand new condition (never used) in its grey plastic container and original box. I assume its good for people who don't want to scratch the emulsion with felt?

That item is NOT uncommon and shouldn't be considered rare or "collectible".

There are those who think some of the items they are selling are Gold. At the prices they ask you get the feeling they would rather really keep their offerings.

For some sellers in my opinion. all it takes is one buyer. (throw up a bunch of stuff, especially if you're already selling bunch of other stuff and it doesn't cost you anything to have an ad up for the rest... I've seen some things like Oly Pen-F outfits and such go for a ****load higher price than I though they were worth). But as we all know, you can ask whatever price you want, just not everyone going to actually pay it.

Anyways I'm bidding on a holder with 2 days left (*wink* would really appreciate it if none if you touched it...)

I think that this holder will fit the 2, 3 and 4 models of Canons, but not the "newer" versions like the P. The model "L" holder fits the P.

WHoops..I think the base of that holder is missing. I was going to email the seller but didn't get around to it. The holder you need is as dexdog mentioned, the "L" version. The "L" stands for lever or thumb wind-on cameras and the T or VT is for the "Trigger" Canons, where one method of winding on is in the base plate. Some of the early version of holders do not fit some of the later bottom loaders because of the new style strap lug, which was introduced sometime in 1954...working on that. Peter

So basically I got this...

instead of this...

dammit... (couldn't find any other on ebay other than the over inflated one in the original post), though seeing as I only paid 4$ for it, might as well keep it in case I pick up a vintage canon to replace the Fed-2 as the primary backup to the P.

OR. You could sell it for $250 as the first ebay listing indicated... 🙄
