This is their 408 page "Style" issue. I just browsed but spotted two Leicas right away.

Early on their is a Tiffany & Co. ad "Some Style Is Legendary". Looks like a IIIf with a collapsible Tokyo Nikkor 3.5cm f3.5.

Later in the "My Stuff" bit, designer Minnie Mortimer lists "my Leica" as her favorite gadget. She's not specific but there is an accompanying pic of an M8.

Anybody see any more?

Is a Leica the new style icon for the trendy set?

The trappings of art, history and technology are often chic as ornaments.

But beware, by the time anything actually sophisticated reaches rags like this one, it's already past trendy and into chi-chi.

John,

Old LTM`s always make great props!

That`s Candice Marie with Leo`s 1945 Leica IIIC K last year.......pretty scantly clad gals in underwear with old Leica`s always mix well

I have some old photos of Brigitte Bardot with a Leica IIIFBD in a Bikini on the Riviera in like 1952 or so.....seems even she "liked a Leica"

Gabriel - I think the photographer shooting the Tiffany ad just handed his model what he shoots - the best lens ever made by anyone, anywhere, with the most awesome glow .

Tom - IMHO you should be the only guy entitled to use the prop - you employ it so properly :D.

Jason - I was using "trendy set" a bit sarcastically ;).

I thought of this thread yesterday when the Neiman Marcus catalog, or sorry, "the book" as it's called, arrived. I don't know how such a thing finds its way to my address, but my wife was looking through it and pointed out to me a section with several pages where cameras were used as props. Most frequently appearing was a Rolleiflex; there were what appear to be press cameras, and an old Polaroid(?) folder. Indeed film cameras are "in"!

Last year, the cover of the magazine Seventeen had a very young girl holding a Barnack Leica type of camera very close to her face. It's been around for a while already.
