I just purchased a SF-20 flash that came without a manual for use on a MP.

I noticed that when used in Auto or Manual, the LCD displays what I presume is the maximum distance to the subject in feet.

I would think that the Auto mode would cover a range of distances, from the closest distance to the furthest that would adequately be covered by the flash.

Are there anyone here who know what the minimum distance from the subject is when using the SF-20 on auto mode, to avoid overexposure? Or does anyone have a scanned or online copy of the SF-20 manual?

Thanks
Gert

The distance indicated on the back when set on Auto mode is the maximum flash to subject distance. Just set your camera to the same f stop you've selected on the flash and if you're closer than the indicated max distance, the sensor should sense it has given out enough light and shut itself off so you don't over expose. So, not technically any real minimum distance. You'll have to experiment to see how the flashes sensor reacts under different conditions.

Hope that helps.
