ok, so i may be the only one who didn't know this, but you can shoot b/w jpegs right off your M8!

go to menu - color saturation - black and white. now you have b/w! i was wondering why the M8 didn't have a black and white feature like the Rd-1...

i prefer to shoot color for low iso's, but for iso 2500, color shots are pretty much useless because of all that noise (atleast for me). now i can shoot b/w right from the get-go without having to post process~

:D

Ha. You learn something new each day! Have fun with your newly found feature. In B/W mode I like to set the constrast and sharpening to High. The jpegs that come out usually don't need any post processing.

Yep- you can. They don't look bad either. However a good conversion from a DNG file is something totally differednt. So shoot DNG+Jpeg fine, and do the conversion for the prize-contest winners from DNG.
