Veni, vidi, vici
Bought silver chrome 90mm Elmarit-M from RFF member and boy is it nice (my first chrome lens). At first I was concerned that the chrome brass stock would weigh too much, considering I had owned a blk alum stock model last year. But my fear was unjustified. Now I have a Rokker 90/4.0, a 90 Summicron, and my new/used 90 Elmarit-M.
Trying to decide which one to keep and it may wind up being the 90 Elmarit-M because it matches well with my 28mm Elmarit type 4. I also prefer the Elmarit's ergonomics. Hate to let the Summicron go and loose the speed but in any case I find myself using 400 asa film so I can keep the speed up and avoid camera shake. Which would you let go?
Yesterday shot portrait in open shade with HP-5, with my 90mm Summicron at f/4, 1/500. At that rate I can use my 90 Elmarit-M without any problems.
On the MP front, love the cam but still trying to get used to fingerprints on the black paint. The Leicavit I added works well in landscape or general shooting, but not in tilt/portait mode. Hey, if its needed then its there to use.
Bags - Been using Domkes for the past 10 years or so. I like the canvass and mine at least I have no complaints. Well, there is one issue - nothings perfect - I find that when I'm shooting a gig that I'd sure prefer a bag with an open top, making my lenses, light meter, film, whatnot, more easily available. Any suggestions? Thanks.
