Hello,
I'm looking to build a camera out of several cameras. The goal is to use a 35mm format lens with 120 film and shoot the full projected circle of the lens - not the cropped 24mm x 36mm. Why - I'm a photos student and I love cameras and projects.
A key piece I'm looking for is a leaf shutter 35mm format camera with the shutter release built into the lens. Through my research I believe I have found the Braun Paxette.
There must be more. Do you know of any? Thanks for your help!

You can fire the shutter from the lens on the Kodak Retinas. There is a button on top, but it is connected to a linkage that physically presses the release on the lens.

The Oly35sp has a leaf shutter lens that can be fired by depressing a metal flange on the back.

Search eBay for the words 'prontor' and 'compur' and narrow the results to 35mm film cameras and vintage cameras and you should find quite a few. If it were me, I'd try to simplify matters by looking at cameras like the very earliest Kodak Retinas that have the shutter/lens assembly mounted in the same manner as the medium-format folding cameras. Those, you can unscrew from the inside of the camera back and most likely remove as a unit. Screw it in on a camera with a similar-sized hole, tighten it down, and you're in business, if you have the back-focus set right.

Thanks guys! I purchased a paxette and a retina of ebay. Once I get them I'll be able to dissect them and hopefully make one of them work. Thanks again.
