Hi All
Im a newbie to this forum and have only just started collecting rangefinder cameras to use on top of my 35mm slr, medium format and large format cameras! I have acquired a very nice Zorki 4k which I am just in the process of getting to know. One question if anyone can answer, the shutter speed ring appears very fiddly at the lower speed settings and I don;t seem to be able to get it to settle on 1/4 sec. Seems to settle on 1/8th no matter how I try to get it to give me the 1/4 sec setting.
Anyone else had this problem on this camera. Other than that all is in good condition and looking forward to using it.

Sounds like it needs skilled attention, Gerald. Have you run a film through the camera yet? Other problems may show up when that is done.

I'd run a short strip of film at all the speeds to see what you are actually getting... maybe if everything else is working perfectly you can live without 1/4th... and consider yourself luck.

It's an elderly, cheap camera: do not set your expectations too high!
Try to get the speeds tested, if it's not too expensive.
Cheers,
R.
