If Sigma ironed out the LCD, speed and handling issues of the DP1 it could be interesting. Still, with the m4/3 cameras announced it might be better to wait and see what is more versatile.

Nice (I've got a DP1, and I like the results I get from it), but unless the price is right (i.e. a whole lot cheaper than the DP1) they've been comprehensively trumped by Olympus' micro4/3 announcement.

IMHO this is the camera they should have made in the first place. 40mm (equiv) and f/2.8 is much more versatile than 28mm and f/4.

I have the DP1 and really tried to like it. I liked the idea of a large sensor but this is just bad execution. I gave it to my dad.

I am cautiously optimistic with this DP2.... if only the lens does not protrude as much as the DP1's when switched on (yes, it was compact only when turned off). Also, if only they fixed the software/interface/speed/etc.....

the sigma is the closest to an APS-C sensor. and have you actually seen some photos from the DP1? pretty impressive results as shown by TOP.

For its intended market niche, the DP-1/DP-2 is about to be eclipsed. Now if Panasonic and Olympus would only take a close look at the control layout on a Canon G10.
In other words, put some dials where the user can quickly glance at their settings and not have delve into a menu for something as basic as the ISO setting. A thumb wheel control for aperture/shutter speed would be nice as well.

Great, the digital Minilux and Contax T3 successor, will buy it.
Re 4/3, micro or not, compare the Oly E420 IQ with the DP1 to understand that there is a market niche for the DPs as there always was for the best film compacts with single focal length top glass.

I think this will be a big seller and it is the closest thing to getting a digital fixed lens RF.

Six months ago, I would have said this was a great product and a possible sucessor to my Hexar AF.
Now, with M4/3rds and something small from Oly on the horizon, I'll have to say the DP2 is about a stop too slow.

I just got back from the pingyao photo show and saw a guy with an exhibition of shots done with a DP1 at 24 inches, it was disappointing to say the least. These images really should not be blown up past about 12 inches.
