At last , 2 years late , the silver tan ex-rat Contax from Ukraine , rebuilt by ex-Kiev techinicians with minimum interference from Kiev parts [ the foot is Kiev , the shutter is original ]
The shutter is SO quiet and smooth - it's a ' sneeze ' rather than a click LOL .
Only my CLA 1952 KNeB II is like this .
The inspiration was this cream Contax limited edition , but @ £150 mine was a heck of a lot cheaper and just as exclusive LOL .
Most paint the camera to be different - this one has all the paint stripped and the bare metal polished . It's turned out far better than anticipated .
Pic taken this eve in low light , but I always love the camera emerging from a black background .

Now that is really pretty. How come you had them take out the self-timer?

Though highly impracticle, I love the looks of the Ivory model, Dee. The tan covers make the chrome one more classy looking than it already is. Have fun with them.

The self timer was removed because -
It was dead with no lever - the camera had been cannabalised for parts - and I did not want a Kiev mechanism .
I also like the smoothed look , and it's actually nicer to hold !
