I'll be moving to Jakarta, Indonesia for a few years and was wondering if there is a place to get 35mm slide film processed? I remember there used to be a place called Cathay Photo or Ruby Photo in Singapore.
Is there anyone here from the area that can give me an outlook on what to expect in terms of buying 35mm Provia 100F and getting it processed?
Thanks

Hey Asim, I'm in Singapore. I haven't shot slide film in a few years, but at that time I was told the last remaining processing machine in the country was in the hands of PhotoHub. As for purchasing, I think Ruby Photo still sells some E6, but not too sure on the selection there. Good luck!

I've been at Ruby Photo in Singapore some months ago:
Excellent shop! http://www.rubyphoto.com.sg/
And they offer all current reversal films from Fujifilm and AgfaPhoto.
They also offer E6 development.
They cooperate for this service with the best E6 lab in Singapore:

The guys from the 'Analog Film Lab' are enthusiastic photographers by themselves, and they bought a complete new, modern E6 dip-and-dunk developing machine last year for offering top-quality development.
You can also send your films to them directly from Jakarta, they are doing international business.
By the way, if you would have looked at our excellent "recommended E6 labs list" thread you would have found them there, too

Another possibility to buy reversal films:
Lomography Embassy Store in Singapore:

And the Lomography Embassy Store in Jakarta:

As mentioned above, for Singapore, there is only one E6 line and its with Fotohub. For Ruby or anyone else who says they process slides, its all sent out to Fotohub - they have a few branches (see link above) and, from memory, it takes about 3 days. Im actually in Jakarta but have never looked into labs for developing here. From what I've been told, there are no E6 labs remaining in Indonesia - no one uses reversal film here at all. Even for C41, you can expect your negatives to be scratched as no one maintains their minilabs properly (even in Singapore, I can never get C41 processed without a few decent scratches).
