Ok... I have totally forgotten this one.
If I am looking at commercially-mounted slides on a light table so that the image is correct left-to-right, does the "Kodachrome/Ektachrome/Fujichrome" side or the "Frame Number and (maybe) date" face me?
I could make a judgment based on cues in a picture, but I would like to know what the correct answer is.

I believe the proper answer is "Emulsion side down." Most of the commercial slides I have aren't in cardboard mounts. But I noticed that some Kodachromes I got back from Dwaynes had "this side towards screen" printed on the emulsion side.
