Hi Folks, please tell me which is the smallest rangefinder camera that will fit ltm lenses.

I`m lookig for one but but can´t tell the best matcht!

I want it to use the canon 50/1.2 LTM lens.

It can be with or without built-in metering.

Thanks!

I'm not sure about this, but I think a Canon 50/1.2 will block the VF/RF of a Barnack Leica. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I would go for a M3.

I'm kinda wondering why you want a tiny camera if you're going to screw a honkin' big lens on it.

Ha, guess it´s a good question, let me answer it.

If i unscrew the honky lens then i´ll have a pair of tiny things to put away smoothly. Here in my country people is getting very very paranoid and it´s been so difficult to get pictures with ease.:bang:

thanks!

Get a CL with 40/1.4. For hand-holding, and because of shorter min. focus, you can take similar photos. And it's much smaller and the lens is much better.

Agreed...the 50/1.2 is NOT stealthy! And 1.2 isn't very useful for street, if that's your aim. I mean, it is a big old hunk of shiny glass floating in the air in front of your face...

I have a Leica III f and a Canon 50/1.2: do not associate these! This lens hides 1/3 of the viewfinder and a little bit of the rangefinder. I also have to say that they look ridiculous together:

Last point: you lost the best aspect of Barnack cameras: pocketability (and the lens is almost as heavy has the camera).

Yeah!

Yeah!

This is it, i already have the 40/1.4, (little great lens perfect match for the epson)

Think i´m missing the cl!

Excellent photo of the 50 avec L-III, i needed to see that!

thnx for your kind advice!

I have actually used the Canon 1,2 on a Leica CL. Functionally ok, even looked rather cool, but not easy to focus correctly. Short base for that speed, I guess. (?)
That lens is very good in all aspects on a Canon P!

If you want stealthy, then think about a more compact body and a more compact lens.

I like the Rollei 35 RF -- good body (Bessa-R2 clone) and compact lens.

I think that the Leica/Minolta CL/CLE also would make for a compact street shooter.

I would recommend to switch from the Canon 50/1.2 to a CV 40/1.4 or Canon 50/1.4 or 50/1.5 or get a CZJ 5cm 1.5 (modified by Brian to LTM). Then only start thinking about which small camera would be useful.

I use my Canon 50/1.2 on the Bessa R2. It will fit on the CL, does not block the VF/RF- but is hard to focus. The lens on the R2 is not bad to focus, especially at 10ft and farther..

Canon 50/1.2 on the Bessa r2, wide-open, 1/4th second, handheld. Kodacolor 400.

Built in light meter uses Diodes, easy to see in the dark.
