Now that I've bought(and hopefully will be taking possession of later today) an R-D1 I was curious to what everyone uses to process their images.

Thanks.

Lightroom, though I on occasion use the PhotoRAW software to spit out quick JPGs.

Also, I always convert the ERF files to the Adobe DNG format when importing in to Lightroom.

I use Lightroom, and convert the ERFs to DNG. That way the files shrink to 6mb. I also made a profile for it with DNG Profile Editor, which gives me nice neutral colors.

I voted for Epson Camera RAW, although I also use Lightroom, but more for the M9, seldom for the R-D1. The advantage of ECR for me is, that I can develop my images on Linux, because the programm runs fine with Wine and is really nice and simple to use. All you really need for R-D1-Images, but nothing more.

i use pse9 and find it can do anything i need. also have cs5 but find it overkill. also have an old version of iphoto which is nice for making apple photobooks, but i have never taken the trouble to update it to the latest version.

Thanks everyone for your responses and suggestions.

Currently I've got,
CS5
PSE8(IIRC)
LR2.something or other
Epson PhotoRAW(found a link for a download the other day)

I guess by doing this I was trying to gauge the amount of post work others dedicate to the R-D1 images or if they're just that good SOOC. My take from reading this sub-forum for the past 17 months were they are that good, curiosity had gotten the better of me.

Thank you all again for participating.

Now if my mail lady would just drop it off.... 🙂

Still using PS-7. It has more features than I need. But if I was still scanning film I'd be tempted to upgrade for the handy, horizon straightening tool.

I've reached the point to where I do as little as possible to my shots, thankfully ever since I got my Bessa it's forced me to slow done(well the 5D2 is no speed demon either).

Not so long ago I had what seemed all the time in the world to go out and shoot, but within the past two years it's been greatly reduced to one day a week. With those time restraints I'd rather a handful of quality shots(well, by my lowly standards) than cards full of soon to be deleted files.

Lightroom for library management and general procedural edits (95% of my edits)

Silver Efex 2 and DxO Filmpack 3 for fun. Seldom use HDR Efex Pro, but it's there.

PS CSn for editing that requires local brushwork changes. Don't like Lightroom's tools for local changes.
