I read about a software program that could be used to imitate specific b&w film, i.e. TriX, Ilford, etc. Was this just a dream or does it exist? I can't find the reference. Thanks!

Both are photoshop filters and give nice results, but I prefer the channel mixer and curves method. YMMV.

This is an image I produced with LightZone 1.6. Began as a Oly Raw format and ended with this. It is as sharp as I would like but I think I could get there. It is easy to desaturate the color and then work with the zone system to get the widest range of gray.
