Here are a couple of portraits of my son taken with my Canon VI-L and a Soligor 105mm F4 telephoto. The film was Kodachrome 64 processed at Walmart and the slides were scanned with my DiMage IV scanner. I used the VI-L's built-in 100mm frame lines with this lens. The place and time were Yuma, AZ September, 2006. I tried to sell this lens here, and there were no takers -- I sold it on eBay for $50. I have since acquired another one.
The Soligor lens seems to be exceedingly sharp and good value. I have adjusted the exposure slightly on the scanned images. Of course a bit of sharpness is lost in the compression and scanning of the slides.
My guess is that the Soligor 105mm F4 was made in the late 50's, perhaps early 60's (judging by the good condition of both examples I have owned). Perhaps someone here has some history on these lenses.
