Hello,

I have just bought a used Sonnar t 90mm f2.8 lens by mail order. I have not got a g2 body yet, but will get this soon (Lens was good deal so went for it ahead of body!)

Quick question: the f-stop ring on the lens only goes to 11 when turned to the left by hand, but goes way past 22 when turned by hand to the right. All the 'stops' are there, just not matched up. Is this something that is a non-issue when the camera is connected to the autofocus body (ie. it 'corrects itself'), or have I bought a dud?

Any help appreciated.

Yes it does.

What did you pay? I ask because Adorama has a mint demo for $170.00 Two weeks ago I bought a mint demo from them at that price and another one popped up on their website to replace it. Mine appears completely new and came in its snood. Compared to other ones I see offered the price is excellent. Living in the Big Apple I bought it in person and had had the opportunity to examine it before purchase. Enjoy it, it is a great lens. By the way, the day before yesterday I bought the GA-1 adapter from Adorama and a Universal screw mount Contax SLR adapter from B&H. Now I can use my 58mm Zenit Helios 7 on my G1. A perfect fit and goes well with the 60mm viewfinder adjustment the GA-1 makes on the camera.

Yeah, I got one from KEH a little while back for peanuts -- 159 bucks in LN- condition. When it arrived, I also freaked out (I had just gotten a G1 body) about the f/11 thing. The other issue -- when I put it on the body, it would not focus. I called KEH and asked, and the guy said that he also used a G1 and that it was often a problem with the contacts. I was skeptical since the lens was so clean (LN-), but he told me to take a q-tip and clean the contacts with denatured alcohol. Sure enough, I put it back on and it has been perfect ever since. Now I am just waiting to see the first results!

Congrats! I honestly believe this may be the perfect portrait lens:)
