Hi all,

I attended the Sony Alpha Master Class in Sydney today, and I tested Sony NEX 5R.

I was a bit disappointed with the cameras in the "menu" - A65 and NEX 5R. As I tested A65 last year and have recently ordered a NEX 5N, I picked up the 5R to try out.

Here are the sample shots I have taken with the 18-55 kit lens. I am sharing them not because they are great photographs, but to give an idea for those who might consider buying this camera.

There is no excessive post-processing with these shots except for the candid portrait taken outside, which was converted to BW in Lightroom. The other black and whites were taken with High Contrast Monochrome, except for the Harbour Bridge, for which I used Auto HDR and a bit exposure correction in post-processing... I shot the guy with hat in a dimly-lit seminar room with 12800 ISO. I don't think that I will use the kit lens much with my upcoming NEX 5N, but I should also say that I am very much impressed with the autofocus speed and accuracy especially in tricky lighting conditions.

Overall I liked the camera, how it handles, but the screen was a bit of challenge under direct sunlight!
