I'm on the hunt for a larger chunk of shutter curtain cloth...approximately 15x150cm, and .008-.010" thick. Microtools is far too expensive for this, and most sellers of 'bellows cloth' or player piano cloth are on the order of ~$90usd/linear yard. Freestyle used to sell some 'darkroom cloth' that would seem to do the trick, except it is no longer carried. Porter's Camera also seems to have carried it, but is no longer.

Anyone know of some type of this material for a reasonable cost? Most bolts of this fabric aren't wide enough to cut the full length from, and I'd need more than one yard. I have a hard time justifying $80 for this chunk of cloth, let alone $120+ to put into a dumpy $40 Graflex.

A note, Aki Asahi does appear to carry exactly what I need. Except that my two emails have gone un-answered...

Thanks!

Hamradio, what is the width of the quoted $90/yd fabric? Most loomed fabrics come in 110 or 150 (approximately) widths. You don't seem to need a whole yard of it, based on your quoted size.

And I'm sorry to be the messenger but the cost of the old camera has no bearing on the cost of the spare part. "How much does the new equivalent cost?" is a better standard. A new press 4x5 would probably cost 5 figures, if it even exists.
