I'm new tho this forum and to this extraordinaire machines. I've bought a Zorki 4k in this site: www.sovietcamera.com.ua almost 15 days ago.
I'm still waiting for the camera to arrive. Does anyboby have bought anything in this site? Is this waiting period normal?

I purchased equipment from him. Sometimes it takes a while for him to ship. In addition you can usually figure on a minimum of two weeks (at least on packages coming to the U.S.) -- usually a little longer. I wouldn't be concerned yet. On the other hand, a Priority Mail package I sent to Portland, Orego, 400 miles from here, on April 19, still hasn't arrived!

Yes, that's about normal. So far, my record is nine days. At the moment I'
m waiting for the arrival of a Zorki 1. The dealer e-mailed me that it was shipped on April 14th. But remember, the fastest way to mess up anything is to put a bunch of tax-paid bureaucrats in charge of it, which is the case both here and in Russia.
There is a faster way. Check out www.fedka.com. Yuri is not a Soviet camera dealer, but he is a dealer of Soviet cameras. (Ah, semantics!) And he is first class. I've bought a couple of cameras from him, and in one case, he threw in an extra 50mm lens because the one on the camera (a Kiev 4a) had "minor cleaning marks" on it. He happens to be in that big metropolis just east of the Hudson River, which cuts the shipping time down considerably. A little more expensive, yes, but a darn sight faster.

I bought a Jupiter 8 from him. It took a little longer than average but the lens is great. It was worth waiting for.

Three additional notes:
1) Welcome to the forums - you will find them interesting.
2) That Zorki 4k should be fun to try out. I have two Zorki 4's. Strangely enough, on the Zorki 5 they went back to bottom-loading!!
3) I just checked the Fedka website. To no surprise, Yuri is right in there with every other NYC camera store -- he's Jewish!

Did you get an email when your camera shipped? I start the count down from the email for my purchases.
The wait bites but when the box shows up its almost like christmas only better cuz I'm pretty sure there isn't going to be socks or (from my crazy grandma) a lovingly hand crocheted bathing suit--hey, the 1970's were hard on everybody--but some thong I actually want and will use!

I just received a Fed-2 from Vikentiy at sovietcamera.com.ua. Counting from the day he received my payment, it was 10 days to delivery. That's not counting the time it took my payment to reach him. He emailed me when he did receive payment. By all means, email him and ask when he shipped it.
