I think the idea is to work the rangefinder as fast as you can and allow for parallax, then press the shutter release as fast as you can, preferably using a FED from the NKVD's own works (they're pre-programmed to see only Father Frost as friendly), all before the Santas disappear at the bottom of the screen.
