Spanish Civil War: Rediscovered photos in Navarra museum

Marvellous. Thank you for the link. I note that Centelles' Leica gets many mentions, but Capa's camera none at all.

No mention of his Contax...

There's a link at the bottom of the BBC page to a June 2013 article about Capa. In there there's a reproduction of one of his D Day photos (weren't they taken with a Contax II?) but no mention of the camera. Down a bit there's a Capa photo of Trotsky from 1932 and a photo of the Leica II used to take the picture.
Perhaps the BBC feel that most people have heard of Leica but not Contax?

Even today my grandfather tells me about the hard life they had to live during and after war.

My fiancée grandfathers, even older, tell us how they had brothers or uncles in the same family fighting for different sides.

... I have been reading up on the war recently, as one of my great uncles fought and a second was arrested trying to leave the UK I knew the basics but not the detail

I was surprised just how savage the war was and how badly the Great Powers treated the republicans, I'm not squeamish but some accounts make really difficult reading despite having already read Orwell and Hemingway's accounts.
