Now that I am out of stock of HC-110 that has been my go-for developer in many last years I started looking for alternatives and got my hands onto Champion Promicrol. So far I developed one roll of Tri-X but the pictures came out somewhat full at the times indicated on the packing slip. I am wondering if Promicrol can be used like Rodinal for the (semi-)stand development and if anyone has experience or hint on the starting dev time for that?

I have about 4 rolls of Neopan 400 with some glacier pics shot on my Mamiya 6 (moderate contrast, overcast sky) so ideally I am looking for the high sharpness with some highlight compensating action. And I am going to scan pictures with a Coolscan 8000 ED. So would appreciate hints at other developers, but I'm certainly not getting another bottle of HC110 or Rodinal, because this is simply too much for my use.

P.S. Neopan used to be my favourite film in Prescysol EF, and this two-bath developer is super simple to use, but it is not sold anymore in Europe, it seems. ;-(
